Spero che la scorpacciata di agosto, mese ricco di novità Legion-related grazie al coinvolgimento di Mon-El nel crossover “Codename: Patriot”, non abbia abituato male il pubblico degli amanti di Lightning Lad e soci, perchè a Settembre si ritorna al consueto regime di dieta stretta.
Ne è simbolo evidente il fatto che, al ritorno dalle vacanze estive, il team di eroi del 31esimo secolo sarà protagonista solo di una striminzita “second feature” sulle pagine di Adventure Comics (vol.III) #2, ad opera del trio di Johns, Shoemaker e Henry. E chissà se per allora avremo già letto il finale di “Final Crisis: Legion of 3 Worlds”, che nel frattempo è stato nuovamente rinviato, questa volta al 22 luglio!
Sul fronte degli spin-off, principali latori di soddisfazioni legionarie in questo difficile 2009, si prosegue con la noiosa epopea spaziale di Bedard e Clarke, su R.E.B.E.L.S. (vol.II) #8, e con l’affascinante “Anno Uno” di Mon-El su Superman #692, realizzato da Robinson e Guedes.
L’orbita dei fumetti dell’azzurrone potrebbe regalare gradite sorprese agli aficionados anche con Superman: Secret Origin #1, di Johns e Frank, prima istanza di una ennesima interpretazione della genesi dell’alter-ego di Clark Kent. Alla luce delle rivelazioni della “Lightning Saga”, che ha riproposto nella continuity del DC Universe alcuni elementi di quella pre-Crisis, gli autori prenderanno infatti in considerazione anche l’amicizia giovanile tra Kal-El e la Legione dei Super-Eroi, già destinata a ricoprire un ruolo centrale nel #2 di questa promettente miniserie.
Sul fronte dei volumi, l’unica novità degna di nota è la riproposta in versione brossurata di un tomo già edito dalla DC in veste cartonata. Si tratta di Legion of Super-Heroes: Enemy Rising TP, che ristampa l’esordio di Jim Shooter e Francis Manapul alle redini della defunta “Legion of Super-Heroes” (vol.V).
