Dopo le vacche magre del mese scorso, agosto si preannuncia davvero come un mese caldo per gli amanti della Legione.
Non solo un giovane Mon-El è in prima fila tra i protagonisti degli albi legati all’Uomo d’Acciaio, coinvolti nel crossover “Codename: Patriot”, ma dopo una lunga attesa è finalmente in pista anche “Adventure Comics” (vol.III), neo collana ospite di una co-feature regolare sul più celebre team futuribile DC Comics.
La storia principale, incentrata sul personaggio di Superboy/Kon-El, è affidata alla coppia di Geoff Johns e Francis Manapul. L’artista filippino-canadese, già noto agli aficionados per il suo passato impegno su “Legion of Super-Heroes” (vol.V) al fianco di Jim Shooter, ha diffuso via blog le versioni in bianco e nero delle copertine del #1, che è possibile ammirare a questo link. La backup story, invece, è ad opera di Johns e Clayton Henry.
Da sottolineare, infine, che di questa serie è prevista l’uscita in due versioni con diversa numerazione, secondo il criterio spiegato in questo articolo.
Ad eccezione del solito “R.E.B.E.L.S.” (vol.II) di Bedard e Clarke, che provoca sempre più nel sottoscritto attacchi fulminanti di noia, tutti i titoli presenti della checklist sembrano degni di interesse. Si tratta di “Superman Secret Files 2009″ #1, di autori vari, e della triade curata dallo sceneggiatore James Robinson, ossia “Superman Annual” #14, “Superman” #691 e “Superman’s Pal, Jimmy Olsen Special” #2, rispettivamente illustrati da Javier Pina, Renato Guedes e Matt Camp. In particolare, l’annual si propone di offrire per la prima volta uno spaccato sulla cultura di Daxam, pianeta d’origine del legionario Mon-El.
Confuso tra le uscite agostane, infine, è giunto anche l’annuncio del volume cartonato di “Final Crisis: Legion of 3 Worlds”, di Johns e George Pérez, destinato però a raggiungere gli scaffali dei negozi solo nel mese di ottobre. Ordinatelo subito: meglio prevenire che…!
